Worldmate for S60
A reviewer
from Budapest, Hungary, November 26, 2007
Great stuff, downloads airline information and weather forecasts, currency exchange rates. Used to have it on PDA as well and this one developed for smartphones only differs form the PDA version in what S60 and Windows mobile operating systems are different.
Honestly recommended for world trampers like myself

Good and usefull but still needs work
A reviewer
from Singapore, October 12, 2007
So may years on the market. It is a good and reliable program but they still have not managed to ajust the font. When currency is activated it only shows half the digits (cut off) disapointing. Even if it is suppose for This phone - it will let you down. Happened with several new phone models I run it on.

Stylish but disappointing
Ralph
from London, UK, September 24, 2007
I have used a version of WorldMate that shipped with my own P900 phone. It worked well on that and a P910 for a number of years and I have found it to be one of the most convenient apps on my handset.
So when switching to a company Blackberry 8800 when my corporate Windows phone died I figured I'd pay out for the application without a trial.
So... in the intervening years what's improved/changed in the product? Well on the Blackberry not a lot in any category frankly - some functionality has regressed.
The interface is stylish but the key functionality (as I have used the application) has not gone forwards and perhaps has stepped backwards.
1. The multi-city clocks only show a weather icon for one city (the main one) rather than for all of them.
2. The weather tab might have been expected to remedy this with perhaps a pulldown to all the cities chosen in the clocks page...but it doesn't and you see just one city and selecting another invokes the full city list... and at least that seems to have forecasts for all cities cached (so no data update/connection needed).
3. The currency converter is the biggest disappointment for me... it doesn't have the 3 columns of parallel conversions I'm used to... just one. The 3 columns allowed you to do "what ifs" when haggling in foreign lands while keeping a reference value in another column. Also I had to send an inquiry (quickly answered) to the help desk to figure out the interface to change the pre-selected currency list.
4. Flight Status... YMMV but most airlines I use these days send an email and or SMS message with flight status so I get this on my phones anyway... and the handset has a browser with my airline website favourited so I haven't used this feature much.
5. Flight Schedules - I haven't needed to use this before but I may in the future, but, then again, the phone has a browser :-)
6. World Map... pretty but the purpose has always been a mystery to me :-)
7. Travel Information - is ok I guess, but the devices this is application is going to be loaded onto are going to have a web browser so I'm not sure the point - and certainly the airports and other information is very US centric so those of us who travel primarily in Europe & Asia are less catered to; Siam Reap, an airport which I needed to look up only yesterday for example isn't in the database (its REP by the way).
On balance I still like the application, but the price is too high.
In short this is a useful app to have installed but not having it isn't a show-stopper. I will find out when my "subscription" lapses what stops working, but I am unlikely to renew unless the price takes a massive tumble as all the data is available on a well crafted portal home page and a mobile browser connection these days.
